Colonic: Pre-Cleanse Preparation

In order to get the most out of your session we recommend making certain dietary changes, to prepare your body for easier elimination. Keep these tips in mind.

A few days before your session:

  • Start to HYDRATE with plenty of filtered water, lemon or lime water, fresh juices, smoothies, coconut water and herbal teas.

  • Eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables to hydrate the colon and soften up waste with natural fiber.

  • You may want to consider taking Psyllium Husk to further prepare the colon for release.

  • Some may choose to do a Juice Cleanse during this time.

  • Try to avoid gluten, dairy and lower your meat consumption.

The day before your session:

Continue with the list above. Avoid carbonated beverages, cruciferous vegetables and beans, as these can cause more gas during the colonic.

The day of your session:

  • Reduce caffeine intake, avoid drinking coffee before your appointment.

  • Do not eat for 2-3 hours beforehand.

  • Just sip liquids for the hour leading up to your session, no heavy amounts of fluids so your bladder and stomach are comfortable.

  • Wear light comfortable clothing; bring socks and layers to stay warm.

During your session:

Focus on your Breath. Deep belly breathing takes us out of fight or flight, moves the lymphatic system and massages the colon. Sense the water filling up your colon. When the pressure builds up enough, use your muscles to push. Continue to breathe. You want to get to a place where your body is telling you it's the right time to release, instead of forcefully pushing out water. This will allow for a deeper and more thorough cleansing. Continuously trust your body and breath, letting it build up incrementally. Relax your mind and body with the breath.

Post-Cleanse Recommendations

After your session:

  • HYDRATE and replenish electrolytes with: lemon or lime water, fresh pressed juice, smoothies, coconut water, herbal teas, fruit.

  • Eat light simple meals: soup, quinoa, steamed or baked vegetables.

  • Take a probiotic and/or eat fermented foods such as kvass, sauerkraut and kimchi.

  • You may not have a bowel movement for up to 48 hours, as everything resets.

  • Your digestion will be weaker during this time, so stick to simple, healing foods.
